Know Your Stroke Risk, Know the Signs of Stroke

May is Stroke Awareness Month, and there’s no better time to brush up on your stroke knowledge. It’s important to recognize the signs of stroke and call 911 immediately if you or someone else experiences symptoms such as:

  • Loss of vision
  • Weakness in the face or on one side of the body
  • Difficulty with speech, understanding, or balance

Reduce Your Risk of Stroke

But the best way to prevent a stroke is to be proactive about your risk. Ask your doctor these three questions to start the conversation:

  • What is my risk of stroke?
  • What risk factors of stroke do I have?
  • What should I do about my risk factors for stroke?
